Getting started with ASDAN
For centres based in the UK, please complete a membership application form which can be found under Membership or Register button at the top right of the screen. Select the level of membership you would like to purchase (Qualifications, Programmes Plus or Programmes) and select the 'Buy membership' button. Centres requesting Qualifications membership are required to go through a centre approval process.
International centres can complete the form to register interest in joining at Programmes or Programmes Plus levels. Qualifications membership is not available to International centres.
We cannot accept registrations from individuals, for example a learner or a parent. Our courses can be accessed through an approved ASDAN member, for example a school, college or community organisation.
All ASDAN members pay annual membership fee dependent on the level of membership. Centres wanting to join at the Qualifications level of membership are required to pay a one-off centre approval fee, which is part of our mandatory quality assurance process as an awarding organisation.
Each course is costed differently and some include additional teacher packs that can be purchased to help deliver the course.
Your first step is to join us as a Qualifications member.
All members new to delivering qualifications will be taken through the centre approval process, which includes a visit from an External Quality Assurer. You will also be asked to attend training, which will cover all you need to know to deliver your course to your learners, including important quality assurance requirements.
Once your approval has been confirmed, you will be able to purchase learner registrations and deliver your chosen course to your learners.
Training is available through attending pre-booked termly sets of webinars and workshops, or by arranging an INSET for your organisation.
Individual course pages contain information about courses, including an overview, what it involves and how to run the course. You can also download sample materials for some courses, eg qualification specifications, to find out more about the course.
ASDAN offers customised accreditation for centres that would like us to accredit and certificate their course. There is an annual registration fee of £1,299 (+VAT) to be a customised accredited centre, and a mapping fee for us to review and advise on the course which has been designed.
Membership and logging in
Any employee from a registered centre can access the members area. Please email your name and centre name/number to email@example.com and we will email you your log in details.
If you’ve forgotten your password, click ‘forgotten password’ on the sign in page to reset your password.

Your centre number is the same as your account number with ASDAN. You can find this on the welcome email you receive from ASDAN and will also display on the members' dashboard.
For those with Qualifications level membership, once signed in through the members’ dashboard, select ‘Start new course’, select the course you wish to run and then enter the course and learner details.
For those with Programmes or Programmes Plus level membership wanting to run a qualification, please contact your regional relationship manager.
When signed in to the website, click on your username in the top right corner and select Account settings. From the Your account page, select Membership details. You can then select the tier of membership to which you would like to change.
Using the ASDAN website
Details of all training events can be found on the Training section.
You will need to be signed in to complete a booking form for the relevant training event.
Once you have purchased the resource pack in hard copy form, you can request a digital copy of the resource pack by emailing email@example.com
The message centre has been removed and replaced by the member dashboard. This is the screen you first see when you sign in to the website, displaying your active courses, upcoming events and from which you can start and manage new courses, edit learner details, manage your account settings and find FAQs and video guides in our new help centre.
Notifications will be sent via email to contacts on your centre's account to alert of any updates.
Courses and moderation
When signed in to the website, click on your username in the top right corner and select Learners. From this screen you can add a new learner to your account, edit their details or remove them if they have left your centre.
New learner registration process
We have changed our processes so that learners are registered at the start of the course. This allows you to track your learners, including entering their completed units throughout the course, rather than at the end. It will also enable both us and our members to assess better the impact of our courses, informing our development and ensuring we are successful in engaging, elevating and empowering young people in greatest need.
Learner names may change as some join or stop the course. Final names need to be confirmed four weeks before moderation.
For members partway through delivery
If you are registering learners for a programme and you already have student books, please do not add books to your course registration – instead leave quantities on the products page as 0.
We will check your balance at the point of certification as we do now, and if there aren’t enough valid books in hand, we’ll invoice at that point. If you would like to check your balance of programmes learner registrations, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are registering learners for a qualification, please complete the course registration process as above. Any unused, valid learner registrations will be credited from your invoice. If you would like to check your balance of qualifications learner registrations, please email email@example.com
When signed in to the website, select the active course in which you want to change a learner's name. Find the learner and select 'View learner details'. From this screen you can edit or remove the learner from the course.
You can edit learners up until your moderation deadline.
When starting a new course, you can select an 'expected' moderation date. Please note this is for our planning purposes only and is not confirmation of your moderation.
Once you have started a course, select the course from your Active courses in the member's dashboard, and choose Request moderation. This will create a screen on which you can choose your moderation date and the expected number of learners for the moderation.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request a cancellation of a moderation. The cancellation may be subject to a fee if the cancellation is made inside seven days of the moderation date.
When signed in to the website, click on your username in the top right corner and select Teaching. The results tab on the Teaching screen contains past moderation feedback reports (MFR) for your centre.
Please contact email@example.com if you cannot see the MFR you are looking for.
When signed in to the website, click on your username in the top right corner and select Teaching. From this screen you will be able to select the Results tab to see your learner's achievements.
We can organise replacement certificates at a charge of £12 per certificate. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the student’s name, the course the certificate is for, the organisation the learner completed the course with and the moderation date if known. Please return the original to us if you have it.
Finance and payment
To see invoices and your order history, when signed into the website, click on your username in the top right corner and select Account settings. From this screen you can select 'view order history' to see outstanding invoices.
You can pay online, by credit or debit card, or by bank transfer. Card details can be provided when you place your order, or by clicking 'Pay now' next to your invoice on the Order History list.
If you prefer to pay by invoice you are welcome to provide a purchase order number when you place your order, though this is not mandatory.
Accounts are placed on hold when an invoice is over 45 days overdue or a credit limit has been exceeded. Please contact email@example.com to arrange payment of any outstanding invoices.
FAQs for learners
ASDAN works directly with education providers and does not accept applications from individual candidates. Learners access our courses through our network of centres, which include schools, colleges, pupil referral units and other providers. We recommend talking to your local college or other education providers to see if they offer ASDAN courses.
We can organise replacement certificates at a charge of £12.00 per certificate. We need the student’s name and course, along with the name of the centre and date of moderation. If there is an error on the certificate, please send the original to our head office. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your request.
The following Level 3 ASDAN qualifications are available to start and carry UCAS points for students entering higher education:
- Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) Level 3 – 16 points
- Award of Personal Effectiveness (AoPE) Level 3 – 8 points
- Wider Key Skills Level 3 (Northern Ireland only) – 6 points per skill (3 skills available)
- Extended Project Qualification Level 3 (England only) – up to 28 points (depending on grade)
ASDAN cannot accept registrations from individual candidates; students must access these courses through a registered provider (eg a school or college). Our advice to candidates looking to achieve extra UCAS points through an ASDAN qualification is to contact their local school or college, who will then be able to answer any queries relating to the delivery of the course (eg time, cost). In our experience, schools or colleges are unlikely to enter students for ASDAN qualifications unless the student is enrolled on a full- or part-time programme at the centre.

Our Focus and Raising Aspirations courses are designed for use by home educators. These programmes are suitable for learners with special educational needs and disabilities and students’ achievements can be recognised by awarding certificates.
You do not have to be registered with ASDAN to use these courses and materials can be purchased from the course pages.
